MTV IGGY: Selector: Uncle Dugs’ Jungle Music Hall Of Fame

By Joseph 'JP' Patterson

Uncle Dugs is to jungle what DJ EZ is to garage, and what Logan Sama is to grime: a long-serving campaigner of the British underground sound, who is every bit revered as the artists themselves. The DJ’s been spreading jungle like a fever for over 20 years, and during his time as the manager of London’s underground music hub, Rinse FM, from 1999 to 2005, he witnessed first-hand how the fast-paced genre slowly began to take form in two styles of music that we’ve all come to know and love as grime and dubstep. While many jumped ship, Dugs kept the nostalgic vibes flowing and is today considered one of the main men behind the explosive jungle revival. MTV IGGY asked Uncle Dugs to select five jungle cuts that changed the game forever. Read and learn, folks. Read and learn.
