After a short hiatus, T2 is finally back on the scene. The Leeds-born producer came to everyone’s attention in 2007 when his bassline track, 'Heartbroken', hit the No. 2 spot in the singles chart. Since then, he’s released a number of club smashes, as well as producing for some very well-known artists and doing a lot of work from behind the scenes...
T2 sent The Wrap Up his exclusive new house track, 'Shining Star', which definitely shows how high the levels have been raised. But before listen to his amazing new single – which is due for release in October – check out what the super-producer has been up to since he took a step back from the limelight.
"I’ve been working on my new album, 'Lower Frequency', and preparing for the launch of my publishing company, Rolla Coasta Publishing," T2 told us. "On my new album, you can expect to hear a lot of house: electro house, tech house, etc. That's gonna be out soon."
By the looks of things, house music seems to be taking over! But what about bassline? Is it dead? "Bassline will never be dead! My music keeps it alive and people are still raving to the tracks that I made when I was 15. I’m going to be releasing a bassline CD, set with all of my greatest hits on there, very soon.
"With that being said, most of the people who used to rave to bassline have now moved on to raving to electro/soulful house and minimal tech, so I don’t think that it’s a matter of it being dead, it’s a matter of people progressing on to new sounds. Change is always inevitable. You have to remember this, though, bassline is a form of house music and house is always changing."
